USGBC Arizona Chapter presents the concept of its First Annual USGBC Heavy Medals Luncheon. This concept will provide past due acknowledgement to outstanding LEED certified buildings and categories. USGBC Arizona is a 501c3 non-profit organization aimed at supporting sustainable projects throughout the state, as well as providing support to our three existing chapter branches – North, South and Central. The hope is this award recognition ceremony will serve two-fold in also fundraising for the Chapter so it can continue supporting these worthwhile causes.
The 2012 Heavy Medals Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, October 24th at the Phoenix Convention Center West, a Silver LEED certified building. Nominees for various categories will be invited along with their consultants, contractors, and architects to ensure everyone receives the recognition they deserve. This event will continue year after year to acknowledge outstanding performers and create a sense of hype and pride for sustainable-minded accomplishments.
Greg Stanton, Phoenix’s green-minded Mayor, is scheduled to speak at this premier event. Host Pat McReynolds from Channel 5 News is scheduled to MC, making the event even more entertaining. Media will be present, and other city officials from throughout Arizona will likely attend as well.
