Stefanie Vaughan Gerstle, NCARB, LEED AP - Vice Chair Stefanie is an architect and consultant experienced in all phases of the architectural process, including passive solar design and building energy audit and analysis. She has been a passionate supporter of the environment and energy conservation since studying passive solar design while completing her Masters in Architecture at UCLA and has over 25 years experience in commercial and residential architecture as well as facilities design and management. Through her work at the University of Arizona's Environmental Research Lab, Stefanie recently co-authored a paper on Renewable Resource Integration of Energy and Water. She's assisted with UA House Energy Doctor energy audit classes and programs and developed City of Tucson Residential Green Building Guidelines, expected to be adopted by the city council in August, 2009.
Jim is the Energy Program Administrator for the Arizona Department of Commerce Energy Office. He is responsible for helping to reduce energy costs in state government buildings and commercial sector buildings. His areas of interest include energy efficient lighting and green building design. A Commerce employee for the past 28 years, he is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), and a LEED Accredited Professional. He is also a member of the Association of Energy Engineers, Illuminating Engineering Society and ASHRAE.

Patrick has been a Flagstaff resident for 23 years. He serves on numerous boards within the Flagstaff community including City of Flagstaff Water Commission and Coconino Community College. Patrick is owner of Construction Management Associates in Flagstaff.
Nate Riggle, Communications Chair At-Large: Southern Branch GC - Elected
As a dad, husband, and architect, Nate believes that humanity's greatest challenge and responsibility is stewardship of the Earth so that future generations may enjoy and benefit from its wealth of resources. Accordingly, he's been an active participant in the branch since November, 2006, and, in addition to sitting on the governing council, serves as Communication Committee chair..
Denise van den Bossche, CRE, LEED-AP At-Large: Central Branch Chair - Elected
Tim has been a General Contractor for 23 years. He has a degree in Civil Engineering from Northern Arizona University. Tim is the owner of Kinney Construction Services which has helped to construct several LEED certified projects.
Arthur is the specifier/estimator and LEED coordinator at BWS Architects, the architectural firm where he has worked happily for fifteen years. He has been working on LEED projects for about eight years and achieved the only Bronze certification in Arizona. He was active in helping to establish the Southern Arizona branch of the Arizona Chapter of USGBC and currently serves as Chapter Board Member-at-Large for the Southern Branch. He will begin his tenure as branch vice chair in January, 2009. Arthur believes that designing well in the desert sensitizes you to environmental conditions that affect the planning and performance of your buildings. LEED provides a framework to validate that design practice for everyone to see, and serves as a basic guideline to better, more sustainable building to ensure the well-being of future generations.
Bonnie Richardson, AIA, LEED A.P. Past Chair
Bonnie Richardson is an architect and principal planner for the City of Tempe Transportation Department. She is a LEED Accredited Professional and serves on the Arizona Board of Directors of the U.S. Green Building Council. Bonnie has been a Visiting Professor at Arizona State University College of Architecture and Environmental Design, and managed her own architectural practice prior to joining the City of Tempe.
